I am an all-around creative professional with a focus on film and filmmaking. Working in many areas of media, communication, and design; I've had the privilege to work in the art department of television and film (Glitch, House Husbands, Jack Irish & Holding the Man) as well as music videos and short films.

From the great hands-on experience of filmmaking, I switched my focus to writing when I completed my BA in Cinema Studies. I now write film reviews for my own blog ‘Happy & Tragic’ and am a contributing writer for ‘Fake Shemp’. I am also a semi-regular on the ‘Good Movie Monday Podcast’ and YouTube channel.

I am currently doing my MA in Cinema Studies. I believe that film is more than just entertainment but an educational tool for self-reflection, empathy, and communication. I’d like to emphasise my love of visual narratives that tell stories without having to verbally say anything. While speech, sound, and music are incredibly important, my focus is through the art of visual storytelling through things, places, and costumes. Specifically the cinematography, production design, and lighting departments.

Other than film, I enjoy illustrating, reading, and playing video games. She has accepted that she may never finish Bloodborne...and that is ok.

Genre: Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror, Film Noir and Horror/ Comedy. Which is weird because here are my favorite things:

Movie: Beverley Hills Cop (1984), We're no Angels (1955) Christmas Vacation (1989), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), Practical Magic (1998), Monsters Inc (2001 & 2013), Moana (2016), Jumanji (1995), Pitch Perfect (2012), Horrible Bosses (2011)... This could go on...

Television: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Twilight Zone (1959), Batman Animated Series (1992), Family Guy (1999-), CSI (2000), My Mad Fat Diary (2013), Star Trek (1966), and Barnwood Builders (2013-)

Book: Odd Thomas (Koontz), Franny and Zooey (Salinger), Batman: Murder at Wayne Manor (Swierczynski), and Strange the Dreamer (Taylor)

Comic: Buffy comics, Batman comics, and Junji Ito. (Still exploring different genres)

Game: Bioshock Collection, Batman Arkham City,  Baldur's Gate,  The Sims 2, Detroit, Tony Hawk Underground 2, and The Movies.

It's ever-evolving but mostly stays the same.

Thanks for stopping by!
